Located in Little Rock’s historic Hillcrest neighborhood west of Downtown, the Afterthought is the city’s oldest local bar and offers live music every night. Traditional jazz performers sponsored by the Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation perform Mondays; headliners other nights vary, ranging from smooth jazz and blues to jam-rock and reggae. The quaint, New Orleans-themed bar has a dance floor and was recently remodeled and reopened as a non-smoking venue. A full drink menu is available, plus delicious food from the adjoining restaurant, Vieux Carre.
