Riverfront Park stretches eleven blocks from the River Market District to Old State House. Much of Little Rock's history began along this stretch of the river. A plaque marking the original "little rock" from which the city takes its name is located beneath the rail bridge. You can learn about the original "little rock" where settlers first came to this area in a 2,400 square foot history pavilion. The park also includes an amphitheater, The Belvedere Pavilion, playground, plazas, promenades and picnic areas.
