Who says you have to go to New Orleans to laissez les bon temps rouler?
Mardi Gras is not just for Louisianans - the good times are rolling right here as we head into Mardi Gras season in Little Rock.
The annual SoMardi Gras Parade’s 2019 theme is “Over the Rainbow,” and there are cash prizes for most creative “Over the Rainbow” entry. The parade starts at Noon on Saturday, March 2, and many of the area businesses are offering specials throughout the day. Catch the parade (and some beads) between 24th and 12th Streets, then hang out in the SoMa District.
Looking to celebrate Mardi Gras with your dog? Bark Bar is at it again with Mardi Paw following the SoMardi Gras Parade. The fun starts at 3 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. There’s a bead toss every hour, so make sure your pup is ready to show some paws!
Or, roll right over to Rebel Kettle for their Mardi Gras Bash. It goes from 3-11 p.m., and Little Rock’s own Rodney Block Collective will go on stage at 7:30 p.m. The best costume receives a $100 Rebel Gift Card, and everyone in costume gets 10% off their tab.
Barkus on Main is back this year, with a later-than-usual parade date, but the weather should be bark-tastic. The festivities are Sunday, March 31, from Noon – 5 p.m., with the costumed pet parade happening at 2:30 p.m. The parade starts on 7th and Main. The after party includes a Hurricane station and a craft beer garden.
