In 1957, nine Black students faced mobs and the Arkansas National Guard when they tried to desegregate Little Rock Central High School. President Eisenhower sent troops to uphold integration, and despite daily harassment, these students persevered. Today, the school is still active and within a National Historic Site. Visitors can learn about the Little Rock Nine and the civil rights movement through exhibits, ranger talks, and spaces for reflection on this important moment in history.
