Eclipse 2024

Mark your calendar for the April 8, 2024, eclipse in Little Rock!

Write it down…and save the date. Little Rock will be the place to be during what has been dubbed the Great North American Eclipse. To experience complete darkness, gazers must be in the narrow path of totality, which will run through the center of The Natural State from southwest to northeast. Little Rock is located within that narrow swath of totality.

More details about the celebrations coinciding with the eclipse will be released soon, but for now, make plans to be in Little Rock on April 8, 2024!

Where to Watch

Pack your eclipse glasses and traverse across Little Rock, choosing a spot to watch this astronomical phenomenon. Located inside the path of totality during the eclipse, an area like downtown will receive two-and-a-half minutes of temporary darkness. A place like the Airport District will experience totality for a shorter time because it's farther from the path of the eclipse with a northwestern location. For a longer viewing time, travel near the dam at Lake Maumelle, receiving three-and-a-half minutes of totality.

Looking for an outdoor place during the eclipse? Head over to Pinnacle Mountain State Park and observe the eclipse at the peak, taking in otherworldly views of the landscape.
