Juneteenth may be America’s newest federal holiday, but Little Rock has been celebrating Juneteenth for decades.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors the freedom and achievements of African Americans. In 2021, June 19 became a federal holiday, giving national recognition to a tradition that has long been part of Little Rock’s cultural calendar.
Today, Juneteenth weekend brings the city to life with major celebrations, live music, local food, and cultural experiences, including Juneteenth in Da Rock, the Juneteenth in Da Rock Summit, and live music along the river. Juneteenth in Da Rock
Little Rock’s Juneteenth in Da Rock celebration is organized by the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Arkansas’ only museum dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories, history, and culture of Black Arkansans.
The celebration packs the day with ways to get involved, including a Kids Zone, a 5k run/walk, and a lively street festival featuring music, food, and local vendors. Additional affiliated events will be announced as details become available.

Juneteenth in Da Rock Summit goes beyond the celebration with a Summit built around the conversations, ideas, and opportunities shaping what comes next. Main-stage conversations, breakout sessions, and interactive workshops bring people together to dig into economic mobility, entrepreneurship, the creative economy, financial empowerment, leadership, and community advancement.

Party on the River with Rodney Block Collective & All Star Friends
Celebrate Juneteenth with a community concert at First Security Amphitheater featuring Rodney Block Collective & All Star Friends. This special event brings the community together for an evening of live music, culture, and celebration along the riverfront. Enjoy powerful performances and a vibrant atmosphere as Little Rock gathers to honor the history, resilience, and spirit of Juneteenth.
