Ask a local or even a visitor who's been in Little Rock for more than ten minutes, and they'll tell you that Little Rock is a spectacular city full of stunning, photo-worthy sights. We did a little scrolling through Instagram and rounded up some of our most Instagrammable landmarks.
These two parks sit almost side-by-side, just west of town, and offer some of the best views in all of Arkansas (and some of the best mountain biking, too!) On any given afternoon, you're likely to find a small army of hikers making their way up to either of these summits. No matter what path you take to the top, it's always worth it to stop for a selfie on two of Central Arkansas's tallest mountains.
Whether it's lit in all its nightly technicolor glory or the bright sunlight of a fall afternoon, the Junction Bridge is one of Little Rock's most iconic landmarks. The bridge stands on the site of the original little rock that gave the city its name and makes for a stunning photo subject and a beautiful backdrop. (Don't worry, the original little rock is still nearby in La Petite Roche Plaza.)
Located in the heart of downtown is one of Little Rock's most beautiful parks. With scenic views of the Arkansas River and hundreds of sculptures, it's the perfect spot for a photoshoot at any time of the year. Be sure to catch the golden hour as the setting sun reflects off the river for the ultimate Little Rock esthetic.
Who knew Little Rock had so many murals? Well, a lot of people, it turns out! Take a stroll by any of downtown's many murals, and you're bound to see someone engaged in a mini photoshoot. From colorful koi fish, abstract wonders, and larger-than-life toys, there's a mural to suit any mood, with new ones being painted all the time.
There's nothing wilder than a visit to Arkansas's largest zoo! While you're there, ride a fully restored wooden carousel and the Diamond Express miniature train, and be sure to snap a photo with some of the zoo's most famous residents. From penguins to elephants, it's easy to find someone…or something for a fun photobomb.
MacArthur Park Barrel Bridge
A seemingly out-of-the-way landmark, the barrel bridge of MacArthur Park has quietly become one of Little Rock's most photographed places. The picturesque bridge adds a modern and industrial look to photos. It can be accessed from either side of Interstate 630, from Bragg Street in the Pettaway neighborhood to the south, or from historic MacArthur Park to the north (you'll find it just past the entrance to the dog park).
On the Water
Little Rock wouldn't be the city it is today without the Arkansas River, so of course, it would be another iconic selfie spot. Whether you're strolling along its banks or you've rented one of Rock Town River Outfitter's kayaks, you've got the perfect backdrop as the river flows by. Be sure to check out the Little Maumelle River as well for scenic shots of nature and the chance to do a little stand-up paddleboarding.
What's the best way to get to these sites? By bike, of course! With more than 1,200 miles of cycling trails, Little Rock is the perfect place for your next two-wheeled road trip.
