Movies in the Park kicks off 14th annual summer series June 6th

[Little Rock] – [May 7] – Southern Summer nights are the perfect escape from the hot days, especially when the River Market’s outdoor film series returns to the First Security Amphitheater.

Sponsored by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau, this annual two-month event returns for the 14th season on June 6th. Every Wednesday at sundown in June and July, family and friends unroll their blankets and unfold their chairs to relax and enjoy award-winning films ranging from animated to action for all ages.

“We are looking forward to another great season of Movies in the Park and hope that everyone finds this year’s lineup as fun as we do,” Diana Long, Director of River Market Operations said.

This season of Movies in the Park will be one for every member of the family to enjoy.


The 2018 lineup includes:

  • June 6:  Wonder Woman (PG-13, 2017)
  • June 13: Zootopia (PG, 2016)
  • June 20: School of Rock  (PG-13, 2003)
  • June 27: Sixteen Candles  (PG, 1984)
  • July 4:  Pops on the River Annual Celebration (No Movie)
  • July 11: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (PG-13, 2015)
  • July 18: Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb  (PG, 2014)
  • July 25: Beauty and the Beast (PG, 2017)


Families, picnics, and leashed pets are invited to the park to enjoy movies under the stars, but no glass containers. A limited number of food trucks will set up to service patrons as well.  An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18 and an ID is required. The amphitheater will open an hour before film showings (approx. 7:30) and movies with begin at sundown each week (approx. 8:30).
