April first opens the the 8th season of Jazz in the Park and that’s no joke! Little Rock’s favorite jazz night, will feature some of our favorite performers from prior seasons and add two NEW names to the lineup this April. Sponsored by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB), partnering with Art Porter Music Education, Inc. (APME), Jazz in the Park celebrates local musicians in Little Rock’s jazz scene.
This season marks the sixth year partnering with APME, which offers scholarships to talented Arkansas music students who wish to further their education while promoting community service and volunteering. Visit www.artporter.org for more information.

Just west of the First Security Amphitheater; closest entry point is on Ottenheimer Drive off of President Clinton Avenue
**In case of rain, the West Pavilion will be the alternate location for the event.
Beer, wine, soft drinks and water will be available for sale, along with new Jazz in the Park koozies, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit Art Porter Music Education, Inc.’s scholarship fund. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, and there is some seating in the natural stone amphitheater at the History Pavilion.

4/8 - UA Little Rock Jazz Ensemble *New to JITP*
The UALR Jazz Ensemble has quickly become a popular ensemble on campus and in the local area. We focus on traditional jazz styles such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Glenn Miller. We also perform student arrangements and modern works such as Pat Metheny and the Beatles
4/15 - Off the Cuff *Returning – it’s been a while*
They are a Jazz/Neo-Soul group comprised of dedicated, passionate musicians all with an undying love for playing and promoting music. Each of Off the Cuff’s members are exceptional musicians; two of them are college graduates with music degrees and all of them have extensive musical experiences in jazz bands, church groups and individual gigs.
4/22 Twice Sax
Jazz/funk/blues sextet Twicesax performs a mix of originals and artfully arranged covers. Each musician plays professionally in many other bands and draws from their own influences of jazz, rock, bluegrass, funk and blues, creating a lively and complex sound that listeners have called “music that gets into your head, gets into your bones and moves you.”
4/29 - Butterfly of New Orleans – Katrice Newbill *New to JITP*
Founder of New Orleans’ original all-female reggae band, The Irie Dawtas, Katrice, Butterfly Newbill relocated to Little Rock after Katrina. She performs solo with Irie Soul, her back up band covering Reggae, R&B, Gospel, Jazz and more. Butterfly has performed at the House of Blues, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Essence Music Festival and Riverfest.
