Apr 23, 2020, 16:57 PM by Michael Taggard

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 23, 2020) – As COVID-19 related safety precautions force restaurateurs to find new ways of doing business, people both in and outside of the restaurant industry have sought to help in a time of great need. Restaurants across Little Rock and several local businesses have banded together to support this vital industry.

Meal Donations

Little Rock restaurateurs have donated meals to front-line healthcare workers to local hospitals, firefighters, nursing home workers and other first responders. Some restaurants that have made these meal donations include Big Orange, Caper’s, Copper Grill, H.B.’s Bar-B-Q, Heights Taco & Tamale, Local Lime, Star of India, Community Bakery, Three Fold Noodle & Dumpling Co., and Zaza.

Restaurants have also taken turns feeding each other’s staffs during this time. Trio’s, Height’s Taco & Tamale, Big Orange have provided meals to each other’s staffs as well. Local brewery Lost 40 Brewing also delivered free meals to restaurant industry members who are now out of work.

Free Marketing Assistance

Local businesses have made efforts to support local restaurants by helping them communicate the latest on their service options including online ordering, curbside service, delivery, restaurants-turned-grocers and more. Local heroes have emerged in compassionate and creative ways. Some providing pro bono services include:

·       Custom XM - Outdoor banners advertising restaurants’ offerings during this time

·       Dero Sanford, photographer – Professional food photography for restaurants to use in their promotions

·       Nate DiSarro, videographer – “Lighten the Load” videos featuring restaurants and local businesses identifying what locals can do to assist them
