LRCVB launches "experience little rock in color" video series celebrating black history month
New interactive video series features locals honoring the Black experience in Little Rock.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 7, 2023) — In celebration of Black History Month, the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) has launched “Experience Little Rock in Color,” its new interactive video series that features local Black community influencers as they discuss the Black experience in Little Rock, Arkansas’s capital city.
On Feb. 7, 2023, community and business leaders gathered alongside tourism industry partners at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center for the premiere of this series. During the event, Black Little Rock artists joined LRCVB on stage to celebrate Black culture, commemorating the start of Black History Month.
“We are thrilled to celebrate Black History Month with the launch of our new video series,” said Gina Gemberling, president and CEO of the LRCVB. “Little Rock is a dynamic and diverse community that pairs different cultures with world-class attractions, restaurants and experiences. We are proud to spotlight our city’s rich Black history and culture and look forward to expanding our video series to connect with more diverse communities that make our city a unique,
must-see destination for visitors and locals alike.”
Hosted by local radio personality Mia Banks, the video series includes more than 30 Black business leaders, community influencers and residents as they discuss the various restaurants, attractions, and experiences that make them Big on Little Rock.
“This new video series combines both Black culture and community to tell the story of the people, places and things that bring Little Rock’s Black community together,” said Kasey Summerville, vice president of marketing, communications and community engagement at the LRCVB. “We thank our incredible partners for their participation and hope this campaign continues to foster a sense of togetherness.”
“Experience Little Rock in Color” will be published on LRCVB’s Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages throughout the month, beginning Feb. 7, 2023. Viewers can tune in by visiting and following the LRCVB on Facebook: @LittleRockCVB and Instagram: @LittleRockCVB.
