Juneteenth: Wiggle Worms & STEAM Studio

Celebrate Juneteenth at the Museum of Discovery with a day of storytelling, creativity, and hands-on fun for all ages! Guests can enjoy Zinse Agginie’s engaging Saturday storytelling workshops, featuring folktales inspired by African traditions, memorable characters, and meaningful life lessons. Through storytelling and the rhythmic use of drums, Zinse connects guests to the rich cultural traditions and oral histories rooted across Africa.

Little learners ages 6 and under can join a special Wiggle Worms program featuring a reading of Dream Big, Little Scientists followed by a colorful chemistry activity using indicators. Guests will also learn about pioneering chemist Alice Augusta Ball, whose groundbreaking work led to a treatment for Hansen’s disease.

Plus, stop by the PPG STEAM Studio to design your own Freedom Flag with collage, coloring, and stamping thematic colors that honor the spirit, history, and celebration of Juneteenth.
