"It doesn't matter which direction you go; there's a challenging climb ahead of you. The trail on the northern side is extremely rocky, especially the bottom third. It is marked by seven switchbacks and is a pretty lengthy climb. The trail on the southern side is less rocky but is steeper overall. (
