The Tricentennial season of Jazz in the Park opens on Wednesday, April 6 at its original location – the History Pavilion in Riverfront Park. Little Rock’s favorite jazz night will feature some of the city’s best local Jazz and R&B groups. Sponsored by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau in partnership with Art Porter Music Education, Inc. (APME), Jazz in the Park celebrates local musicians in Little Rock’s jazz scene.
This season marks the eighth year partnering with APME, which offers scholarships to talented Arkansas music students who wish to further their education while promoting community service and volunteering. Visit www.artporter.org for more information.
The History Pavilion is just a few yards from LaPetite Roche Plaza where you will find the actual “Little Rock” that was discovered and named 300 years ago. In celebration of that Tricentennial anniversary, we encourage all Jazz in the Park visitors to check out the original little rock and learn a little about the history of how the city of Little Rock came to be.
